Halo 5: Guardians was announced at E3 2014 by 343 Industries and is going to be releasing for Xbox One sometime in autumn 2015. The game was first supposed to be coming out this year, but was later pushed for a next year release.
Just like the last Halo games, a lot of new and exciting things are going to be incorporated in this game as well. Here what we know so far.
Halo 5 will have a brand new character
With the cover art for Halo 5: Guardians out, the cover art features a brand new blue visored Spartan. It was first thought to be a robot version of Cortana or Sarah Palmer from Halo 4, but 343 Industries’ Executive Producer Josh Holmes has said that the character is a new one and has never been featured in any of the previous games.
“For everyone speculating about the mysterious Spartan in Halo 5: Guardians, he’s not Palmer (or Cortana!). He’s a NEW character”, said Holmes on Twitter on May 16.
Going to be much bigger than Halo 4
343 Industries has promised that the newest Halo game is going to on a much larger scale than the previous installations.
The developer’s said, “Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4. That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine.”
Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen,” they also added.
