The camera can automatically change the frame rate depending on the lighting conditions so that users can get better low-light performance. It is also equipped with a 6-axis gyro electronic image stabilization system that makes taking high-quality pictures much easier. It even features dual-microphone sound absorption and supports LDC lens distortion correction.

A big change with the Yi action camera is that the new model now features a 2.19-inch touchscreen display and features a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Gorilla Glass makes it scratch resistant and impact resistant, and has a 16:9 screen ratio, 640 x 360 pixel with 330 PPI resolution.

The camera uses a 1,400mAh battery, which according to the company can last for up to 2 hours of continuous recording. It also features Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi capabilities. The Wi-Fi uses a Broadcom BCM43340 dual-band chip that supports both 5GHZ and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band with a maximum transfer rate of 30MB per second.

The camera can be bought in 3 colors – white, rose gold and black.
