Aquabotix AquaLens is an underwater viewing system that allows users to view what is happening underwater without having to actually go inside or get wet. It is a great option for people who find buying a waterproof drone very expensive and want a low priced and effective choice.

The Aquabotix AquaLens underwater viewing system has numerous uses and can help in inspecting the under portions of your boat for safety reasons, exploring the beautiful world underwater and check water conditions when necessary.

The camera has been made keeping portability and ease of use in mind and features a compact, spherical shape and an ABS plastic body with acrylic dome lens port. The device has LED lights, color camera, live video feed, as well as a 50' (you also have the option for a 15’, 25’ or 75’ cable) cable that gets connected to the provided topside box. The camera even comes with a 3.5" topside color LCD monitor that has a resolution of 320 x 240, which is also connected to the topside box via a separate 6' cable. The whole system can be set up within a minute and is quickly ready for going under water till a maximum depth of 50' (cable dependent).

You can use any boat hook or guide pole and attach the supplied adapter to position the camera and then once it goes under the water’s surface, you can watch live video on the accompanying monitor. The monitor can be worn on the forearm using an armband and swivel mount to conveniently operated from there, or attached to your belt. But keep in mind that while the AquaLens is waterproof, the monitor and topside box aren’t.

The camera is equipped with a 1/3" CMOS image sensor and has a resolution of 640 x 480, along with a 92° wide angle view lens. A great feature of the camera is that due to its dome port for the lens, it helps in countering the reduction in coverage that happens underwater by reinstating a wider angle of view. The AquaLens even has anti-fogging technology for enhanced visibility under water.

Users can also record the live video feed by making use of a MyGica iGrabber or something similar. It works by getting attached to the topside box and provides an easy way to start and stop recording. On its other side, it features a USB plug that can be connected to the computer for uploading the videos.

The AquaLens works on 8 AA batteries, which are not included in the package. These batteries can last you for 6 to 8 hours with LEDs off and about 4 to 6 hours with them on. It can also be powered using an optional AC power adapter that is above the water and provides a continuous power alternative. This adapter works on 100-240VAC and provides 12VDC of power.
