DJI Spark Drone Vs. Yuneec Breeze 4K Drone

With the release of the newest DJI drone, drone fliers everywhere are trying to understand its amazing features and comparing it to figure out which drone fares batter. With many options in the market, the DJI Spark brings in some new possibilities and features, as is expected of the leading drone and manufacturing company.
One drone that gives tough competition to the Spark is the Yuneec Breeze 4K Drone which has features that are in the same category. Here’ a comparison of the two leading drones to see which does better.
Camera and recording
The DJI Spark Drone has been designed to fit great recording features in a small sized drone and not compromise on the quality. It is equipped with a 2-axis mechanical gimbal and UltraSmooth technology that helps in providing considerably stable and smooth videos with reduced shakiness.
The camera comes with an f/2.6 wide-angle lens that has a 25 mm equivalent focal length. It also features a 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor and has the ability to record videos in 1080p as well as pictures in 12MP, delivering sharp and vivid detail in every frame.
The Yuneec Breeze 4K Drone on the other hand, can capture videos in 4K Ultra High Definition, as well as take pictures in 13MP. With a 1/3.06 CMOS sensor and 117° FOV, it delivers stunning quality pictures and media.
If you’re thinking that the Breeze has a higher recording resolution so it will be the better choice, then that isn’t so. This is because the Breeze does not provide stabilization at 4k recording so the video quality isn’t as great the Sparks’ which features 2-axis mechanical gimbal and UltraSmooth technology.
Flight modes
DJI is known for incorporating some amazing flight features and modes into the drones and even with the Spark they didn’t disappoint. The DJI Spark comes with FaceAware that recognizes your face and then within seconds the drone lifts off from your palm. It also features QuickShot, which lets users take videos with just a tap. Use modes like Rocket, Dronie, Circle and Helix to get the perfect picture.
Other older modes such as ActiveTrack and TapFly are also available to make drone flying easier. Another new feature is Gesture Mode that lets you conveniently take a selfie by making a particular gesture when the drone is pointing at you.
The Breeze too comes with modes but they aren’t as may as the Spark’s and not that advanced either. It features 5 automated flight modes allowing better ability to get that perfect shot. These modes are – Selfie, Pilot, Orbit, Follow Me, and Journey. It also comes with an Indoor Positioning System that makes flying inside possible.
Flight performance
The whole design for the DJI Spark has been created to provide speed and precision while flying, along with minimal wind resistance. It can fly at up to 31 mph in Sport Mode even in strong winds, where as the Breeze can only fly at 11mph.
When it comes to transmission distance, the Spark can fly till a distance of 1.2 miles with the remote controller as compared to only 109 yards on the Breeze. Without the controller, Spark provides a transmission range of 109 yards, while the Breeze can only fly till 100 feet.
The DJI Spark also comes with obstacle sensing technology, which the Breeze does not have, putting it another point above the Yuneec quad.
Battery life
DJI uses smart batteries that help it have a longer battery life, along with information on their charge and health. The Spark uses a 1480mAH battery and has a flight time of 16 minutes.
On the other hand, the Yuneec Breeze Drone uses a 3S 11,1 V 1150 mAh LiPo battery that provides a flight time of around 12 minutes and does not come with any smart features.
Conclusion
As we can see, the DJI Spark fares better in most categories and comes with some seriously cool flying features that the Breeze does lack. The only place where the Breeze does better is in price since it is about $100 cheaper than its DJI counterpart. While both are under $500, they make a great purchase.
The Breeze does have a higher resolution camera but quality wise, DJI wins hands down. With better flight time, camera quality, more modes and way better speed, DJI Spark is the better choice of the two.
