The Garmin VIRB XE has been created as an action camera that can be used in the toughest of environments. Record rich, high-definition and wide-angle footage of any action and adventure sports, whether up in the air or underwater!

Camera

The VIRB XE can record impressive HD videos in 1440p at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, 960p at 100fps, 720p at 120fps and WVGA at 240fps. It features a custom, all-glass lens with zoom levels to ensure the perfect shots.

Users can also avail of high-quality photography with its wide-angle 12-megapixel camera, which is enabled with a dedicated photo button. It can take pictures at speeds of up to 30fps and users can even capture still when they are recording videos. It also features gyro-enhanced image stabilization that helps in reducing shakiness in pictures.

The VIRB XE can be set to also take photos automatically over customizable intervals of up to 120 seconds. It also features Extended Timelapse, which lets the camera sleep between shots, save the battery.

Battery

The Garmin VIRB XE action camera uses a rechargeable and replaceable 980mAh Li-polymer battery, which provides uninterrupted recording. It has a battery life of up to 2 hours.

Features

The VIRB XE features G-Metrix that allows you to capture much more than just footage. It has a built-in Garmin GPS, G-force and orientation sensors, and can connect wirelessly to external sensors and other Garmin devices to take further performance data like your heart rate, speed, acceleration, etc. in real-time.

It also dives ready since the camera is waterproof till up to 50 meters underwater and doesn’t need any extra apparatus or cases. The camera’s exposed microphone can record clear audio and it is equipped with a hydrophobic, flat, glass lens, which makes taking underwater shots easier and delivers crystal clear quality unhindered by water drops.

The camera features built-in Wi-Fi that can be used in tandem with the Garmin VIRB Mobile App to preview or review the pictures and videos you are taking. You can also edit media, overlay G-Metrix data and store the pictures and videos to the cloud. It is even equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, VIRB XE to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth headsets or microphones.

The Garmin VIRB XE features a Remote Control Ecosystem that helps in extending camera control. Users will have the option of controlling the camera using VIRB remote, portable navigation devices, wearables, smart devices, aviation flight decks, chart plotters and even other VIRB cameras. You can also use the multi-camera synchronization feature to synchronizing footage from various cameras.

The camera can also be tracked if it gets lost, as VIRB tracking provides the last known position of the camera. You can also edit your media without difficulty using VIRB Edit, and attach a number of mounts and accessories available for the camera to get the perfect shot each time!
