GoPro Hero 4 confirmed features

It’s been almost a year since the last GoPro camera was released. So it shouldn’t be long until the latest version of the camera, the GoPro Hero 4 would be launched. This much awaited new model has quite a few rumors and speculation going on around the internet.

Some information previously leaked cites that the new camera will come out at the end of this summer 2014. But this isn’t consistent with the last few releases of the cameras as the previous three were released in autumn. There is a high possibility that the leaked information refers to the announcement for the camera and not its actual release.

Another report doing the rounds on the internet claims that the GoPro Hero 4 will not be releasing until March 2015. Unless GoPro has been having problems with their final stage of product production, there is no reason for this delay. Also, since no information or explanation has been given regarding this delay, this piece of news may be incorrect all together.

As for the features of the GoPro Hero 4, the information leak states that the video quality of the camera is going to be much better than before. Since the company GoPro always makes incremental enhancements to their products every year, we can expect the same this time as well.

The device is supposed to be able to make 4K recordings at 30 fps, which is twice the frame rate of the previous model GoPro Hero 3+, 1080p recording at 120 fps, and 720p at a remarkable 240 fps.

The GoPro Hero 4 will also be equipped with a 13 MP sensor, a new lens that has been enhanced for capturing videos in the dark, and a 1GHz dual core A9 ARM Cortex CPU.

Other features stated in the report claim that the new camera will also have electronic image stabilization, multi exposure and HDR WDR tone mapping, and upgraded MCTF. It will also have a new waterproof covering that will let you record underwater footage at 200 feet depth.
