Cutting out the middlemen like GoPro and SJCAM, Yuneec has come up with their own imaging solution, called the Tornado CGO4 Camera. Created with Panasonic to combine their camera quality and Yuneec’s award winning engineering, the CGO4 is capable of distortion-free picture quality and amazing captures.
The CGO4 camera is equipped with a 3x optical zoom lens, 16 MP photos, 4K-resolution video recording at 30 fps and an adjustable zoom lens.
The camera and gimbal system features full remote control using the compatible ST24’s interface. Change the focus of the camera or adjust setting like zoom, IOS and shutter speed tight on the screen for convenience.
Using this native system with Yuneec quadcopters also helps elongate the battery life as opposed to third party cameras. The CGO4 gimbal camera provides a longer flight time on the Tornado H920 due to its lightweight design, and works on Single Mode or Team Mode.
As stated above, while the camera uses industry-standard 3x optical zoom lens, it can also be changed with the Olympus 12mm, Olympus 45mm prime lenses and Olympus 14-42mm zoom lens depending on the photographers’ needs.
As a whole, the system is very modular and it can easily be attached to the Tornado H920 drone or on the ProAction ground handle, allowing fantastic aerial filming as well as a more stabilized handheld video.
