A Utah-based company, started by18-year old George Matus, is launching a drone that is being called the world's fastest production drone. It can fly at up to 85 mph when the conditions are favorable, which is much higher than 45 mph on DJI Phantom 4.

The Teal Drone features a unique deign different from drones available right now. Its camera doesn’t hang below on a gimbal so it can’t tilt downwards, but it can record videos in 4K at 24fps and take 13 MP pictures. The powerful and lightweight drone can also stream video at 720p to your phone, tablet or headset.

To reach such high speeds, the drone uses a high performance 1,800mAh lithium polymer battery that unfortunately has a short flight time of 10 minutes.

The Teal Drones GPS system is interesting because right now they are using standard GPS that ahs a +/- 1.5 meter (~5 ft) hover accuracy, but by the time it's delivered it will also have Differential and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning. This can help in getting the accuracy down to just +/- 5 centimeters, or around 2 inches, that too without the need for a vision positioning system.

The most important feature of this drone is the powerful onboard computer that it's using – Nvidia Jetson TX1. The TX1 has been specially designed to be an aerial deep learning computer that has the proficiency to process 4K vision in real time and much more.

It doesn’t come with a remote controller, and is instead controlled using their app on the smartphone or tablet. The drone will come with 3 apps – flight control, Follow-Me mode for automatic subject tracking and a racing application. The TX1 allows for various apps to be developed that can help in different kinds of application for the drone as well, which will be very beneficial in the long run.
