A new range of action and sports cameras are now hitting the markets, which will help revolutionize the way we film ourselves. The new 360Fly action camera has the ability to record 360-degree videos in full HD. And it also gives you a choice to select which angles you want to keep when editing the footage.
For instance, if you are skiing you can change the POV from recording your face to recording the journey. On a normal sports action camera like the GoPro, if you want to achieve this you will manually have to turn the camera, but with the 360fly this is easily possible.
The 360Fly will have a range of different features
The 360Fly is 2.5 inches wide and weighs about138 grams. Its small size allows you to mount it easily on helmets, paddles, tripods or even on yourself. You can record amazing HD videos with this camera at 30 fps. The lens has the ability to record 240 degrees vertical and 360 degrees horizontal footage, which according to the company makes 360Fly the widest-viewing camera in the world.
This also opens up a number of different recording uses for the camera according to the company’s marketing manager Sean Scabilloni. In an interview with Transworld Business he said, “There’s an opportunity to enter several markets, but action sports in particular is what we’re most excited about. We’re offering an entirely new experience not yet had in this category and the reaction has been tremendous.”
The camera is also compatible with both Android and iOS, so you can easily edit and share your videos with the live 360-degree view. You also have the option of changing the POV angle in real time by just swiping the screen. The 360Fly’s design is like that of a futuristic golf-ball that not only makes it cool and unique, but also resistant to sand, sweat, liquid, rain and dust. It is waterproof till 5 meters deep.
The 360Fly is not officially released as yet and will be hitting the market sometime this spring for a price of $499.
