Is it a drone? Is it a plane? It’s both! The Parrot Swing Drone comes with the combined power of a drone as well as a plane and allows users to fly in either way. It has the ability to take off and land just like a drone does, but it can fly like a plane does!
Flight features
Equipped with autopilot and a vertical takeoff and landing mode, this drone can fly at up to 19 mph speeds. The wings feature a unique design that is an X shape providing a dual piloting mode. Choose from Quadcopter mode or Plane mode.
It comes with an advanced flight controller and high performance sensors, making it easy to fly and control. You can fly it forward like a plane with vertical takeoff and landing.
The Quadcopter Mode lets users fly the drone in a simple and intuitive manner. Its autopilot functionality will allow you to hover and stay stable even when you aren’t controlling it. On the other hand, when using the Plane Mode, fliers will be able to race around corners at high speeds with fast turns and maneuvers. You can also use in flight acrobatics such as flips, dives, loops, etc.
You can increase the speed of the Parrot Swing Drone by tilting it forward. The more you make it lean, the faster the drone can fly. Using the Boost Mode will provide an extra dose of power mid-race.
Controlling the drone
The Parrot Swing Drone can be piloted using the Parrot Flypad that lets you customize the controls and also features a flight range of up to 196 ft. Users can mount their phone on the Flypad with the included phone stand and monitor the drone.
The FreeFlight Mini app can be used to control the drone from your smartphone and connects via Bluetooth. It features a user-friendly interface with simple to use controls for beginners as well as expert fliers.
The app automatically recognizes all your connected drones and accessories for a simple first log in and with this users can change settings and check remaining battery life and flight time. Select your preferred piloting mode and use the virtual joysticks in Joypad mode to fly or by tilting your smartphone when using in Accelerometer mode.
