Taking a selfie is something that we see everyone around us doing constantly. With drones in the picture, taking beautiful photos and videos of yourself is not a problem anymore, since more and more drones now cater to taking selfies.

Another addition to this range of flying cameras is the Selfly – a drone that can become a part of your smartphone case itself comes at a low price and delivers amazing photos and videos.

Selfly was started as a campaign on Kickstarter by Hagay Klein who is an aviation enthusiast and works as an orthodontist. The campaign was successfully funded and this “Smart Autonomous Flying Phone-Case” has become a reality!

The Selfly has been created to take aerial self-portraits and the design is a small folding quadcopter that can be fitted into the back of a phone case designed for it. The drone can be controlled using Wi-Fi and can take 8MP pictures and well as videos in 1080p at 30fps.

Users have the option for viewing "pilot's view" footage from the phone using the app. The drone can also circle around a fixed person or object, providing a 360-degree capture. It provides stable autonomous flight for blur free pictures and has 2 control modes – Fly By Stick and Fly By Picture for convenient drone flying and smooth picture taking.

The case for the smartphone in which the drone can conveniently fit is just 9mm thick, allowing you to carry your drone with you, not worrying about damaging it. The drone along with the case also just weighs 70gm.

The phone case can fit on smartphones that are 4 to 6 inches, but apart from this the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, Galaxy S6 Edge, S7, S7 Edge and Nexus 6 will all get their own dedicated cases too.

It uses a 640mAh battery that provides a short flight time of about 5 minutes and unfortunately, the batteries are not swappable. Another point to note is that the drone makes a considerable amount of noise while flying.
