The SJCAM SJ360 Camera is the newest entrant in the race for VR recording and comes as a cheap alternative to most other 360-degree recording cameras.

It uses a 220-degree fisheye lens that is capable of recording videos in 360-degree (360-degree horizontal and 220-degree vertical). The 6-layer glass lens eliminates glare, and provides amazingly clear images.

The camera has a 12MP Sony IMX078 CMOS sensor along with the Novatek 96660 chipset for faster image processing. Its H.264 image coding provides high-resolution images without the need for sacrificing image quality even when capturing at low bitrates.

It can record videos in 2048p and 1440p at 30fps, as well as take pictures in 4032 x 3024. This media can be easily stored on a microSD, but it doesn’t come included with the camera.

It also has a variety of shooting modes to choose from – Fisheye, Hemisphere, Sphere, Panorama, Cylinder, and VR. Additional features like adjustment of white balance, time-lapse, adjustable exposure, burst-mode, etc. is also available.

The camera is Wi-Fi enabled and can transmit what it is recording live to an Android or iOS smartphone. Using the phone, you can also change setting and control the camera easily.

It uses a 1300mAh high capacity battery that has a life of about 2 hours when recording in 2K at 30fps. It takes around 2.5 hours to completely charge, and also has a standby time of up to 8 hours.
