Xiaomi Releases New Mi Drones Starting At Only $380!

After their success with smartphones and cameras, Xiaomi has now entered the drone market and has officially released their new Mi Drone. Offered in two variants, this drone is extremely affordable and gives tough competition to leading drone manufacturers like DJI.

The first version costs just $380 and offers a 1080p camera that has been built-into the Mi Drone. The second one features a 4K camera and this will be available for a very low price of $460, much under the DJI Phantom 3 4K. Both the drone versions come with a 104-degree wide-angle lens and a 3-axis gimbal for stable images and recording.

It seems like the 4K version uses a similar camera as their new Yi 2 and is also equipped with an Ambarella chip, which is the same as the one used in power the GoPro Hero4 Black. It also features a 12 MP sensor and the gimbal has been designed to stabilize up to 2000 vibrations per second so that the recording isn’t shaky or blurry.

The Xiaomi Mi Drone makes use of a 4-propeller system and an internal 5,100mAh battery. It has a flight time of around 27 minutes, which is quite impressive.

Users can also stream what they are recording in 720p from about 2 kms far, and its flight features like ‘Return Home’ can easily transport your aerial machine back incase of battery loss. Users can also use various autopilot options such as automatic take off and landing, hovering, route planning, surrounded flight and tap to fly. It also features real-time location tracking and makes use of GPS and Glonass.

The Mi Drone comes along with a compatible remote controller that makes flying the drone very simple and let users take advantage of its amazing features. Fliers will be able to conveniently monitor the settings and adjustments of the drone as well as fit their smartphone in the provided slot and watch real-time transmission of their recorded feed.
