The newest release from DJI, the Mavic Pro Platinum Drone is an upgraded version of their previous Mavic Pro and comes with 2 significant feature enhancements. Apart from that, the drone is similar to the Mavic Pro in features and design.

What’s new in the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Drone?

This sleek bodied drone comes with a longer flight time of up to 30 minutes from the previous 27 minutes on the Mavic Pro, allowing users to enjoy flying longer. The other feature upgrade is noise reduction in flying. The Platinum version features 60% noise power reduction, which is up to 4dB.

This enhanced endurance and quieter flight has been achieved by using new FOC sinusoidal driver ESCs and 8331 propellers. These newly designed aerodynamic propellers provide impressive noise control performance, while the FOC ESC drivers give sinusoidal current for improved stability.

Apart from these changes, the Platinum version comes in a chic platinum color to differentiate between the two drones. It has gold accents on the body like gold tips at the end of the propellers.

Other DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Drone features

The two Mavic drones are identical in features apart from the above and the Platinum too comes with the same portable and compact design. The foldable design ensures the arms and propellers are safely tucked inside, while the camera and gimbal are also protected.

The Mavic Pro Platinum uses a 3-axis gimbal for shake-free footage and can record videos in 4K at 30 fps and 1080p HD at 96 fps, as well as take pictures in 12MP.

There are a number of great flight features present in this drone as well and it has special awareness features like obstacle avoidance and Flight Autonomy guidance system. Just like the Mavic Pro intelligent flight modes, the Platinum version too has the same modes like Sport Mode for fast speeds of up to 40 mph (64.8 km/h), ActiveTrack, Gesture Mode, Tripod Mode, Terrain Follow Mode, TapFly, etc.

The Platinum too can be flown using the compact DJI remote controller, on which users can mount a smartphone. This remote controller uses OcuSync encrypted transmission, which has a range of up to 4.3 miles (7 km).
